The Women’s Club will be sponsoring a Heritage Bake Sale Saturday Feb 8 from 9am-Noon.
In addition to lefse, pierogis, and kolaches we will be making Upper Peninsula pasties.
We are asking parishioners to help support this fundraiser by making one of your childhood or family favorite treats or a heritage speciality from your grandma’s cookbook.
We will be assembling pasties (Jan 14), pierogies (Jan 16) and lefse (Jan 21 & 22)
in the Parish Center kitchen. We welcome any help.
Join us for our monthly family Holy Hour Sunday January 26th from 5pm-6pm. Stay as long or short as you'd like. We'll have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, as well as guided prayer, and songs - especially welcome to children.
Our potluck will begin in the parish hall at 5:30pm; sign up here to bring a dish to pass:

J.R.R. Tolkien is well known as a Christian, but what is less well known is that the story of his spiritual development reveals a dramatic tale of a hard-won faith, involving sorrow and suffering as well as joys and consolations. A devout Catholic, Tolkien also had a deep spiritual friendship with the Anglican C.S. Lewis. Both of these aspects of Tolkien’s faith provide insight into how Christians today can grow in their own spiritual lives. Please join us Sunday, December 8th as we hear about Tolkien's journey from Dr. Holly Ordway.
Dr. Holly Ordway is the Cardinal Francis George Professor of Faith and Culture at the Word on Fire Institute, and Visiting Professor of Apologetics at Houston Christian University. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the author of the award-winning Tolkien’s Modern Reading: Middle-earth Beyond the Middle Ages, and her book Tolkien’s Faith: A Spiritual Biography was released in time for the 50th anniversary of Tolkien’s death.
Event is free and open to the public, RSVP recommended.
